Wave Function - by Bob Atkinson

Wave Function
(c)2015 Bob Atkinson

many times have noted this
we vibrate with nature's gentle kiss
back, forth, up and down
this way, that way, all compounded

time, dear friend, denotes our lot
position of jelly in a pot
wiggle down, wiggle up
work it hard, suck it up

show up here, then show up there
cycles congeal, all things pair
but, oh we don't feel the pop
just normal movement not felt at all

when all moves together
nothing seems to move
relationship's important
sorta like a groove

we do see movement generated
call it “energy” caused by gyrations
where life evolves to move around
spatial relationships sometimes grounded

life's arrival, quite astounding
gives to energetic movements
something of a natural tone
constructing flesh, constructing bone

all from simple movements of
all that's here, all things we love
loving, caring, working hard
when for a moment we see it all

Mind Gymnasium vs Fact Depository - by Bob Atkinson

Mind Gymnasium
vs
Fact Depository
(C)2015 Bob Atkinson
we settle into our pretext
a thoughtless movement here perplexed
going from a soft surprise
to something harder in disguise

not a full view we see
when immersed in tallow
among tall trees
to where a vision can if true
be viewed as golden, a golden rule

in my quiet observation
wish to see this situation
laid out for you to quantify
what's learned lays open for all our lives

try to remember anything of then
were facts, figures comprehended
or was this just to expand your brain
to new experiences absorb, no pain

so, what you learn in this environment
never leaves your life container
expansion of capacity gives skill
not facts, figures or soil tilled

ability to find a relevant source
scan a page in due course
exceeds ability to remember
to know this fact makes one more sensible

Ecocide (unintended ecological suicide) - by Bob Atkinson

(c)2015 Bob Atkinson

seems to me this trap begins
with our feeling of impending doom
something we all dread
in privacy of our room

yet simple says as simple does
this won't explain the fact
societies collapse because of weight
upon their homeland's back

they think all their universe
to be a placid place
where nothing changes ever
all stays 'till heaven's gates

but no, that's not the way
this sphere evolves through time
change becomes a constant
throbbing becomes a rhyme

not that we fail to see
how we change this world we have
simply put we don't look forward
to see our path at hand

we refuse to plan our options
creation of that something more
which fits into the bundle
of higher seas lapping our shores

so ecocide doesn't halt
our life as life's staged now
'tis when we fail to progress
allowing for new towns

some sitting upon those ice fields
some floating upon oceans deep
or hanging on those mountains
or where the fault scarp creeps

we know we aren't here for long
but when we stop and think
life upon this rocky world
has always been on the brink

smart ones plan for change
adjust their modes to it
blend themselves into new forms
with knowledge and with wit

there lies a choice for us to make
ecocide or change for better
standing firm in evolution
or grabbing a ropely teather
